9. How to Manage Holiday Stress to Find Balance During a Busy Season

The holidays can be a wonderful time filled with joy and connection, but they can also bring with them feelings of stress and emotional fatigue. Many people attempt to balance social commitments, financial concerns, and family responsibilities, making it easy to feel overwhelmed. At True Balance Psychotherapy, we want to remind you that it’s okay to take care of you during this busy holiday season.

Here are a few gentle reminders on how find balance and manage the holiday stress:

1. Set realistic goals and expectations

It’s easy to become focused on creating the “perfect” holiday for yourself, your friends, and your family, but it’s important to remember that “perfect” isn’t the goal - connection is. Try and remain focused on what matters the most to you and find peace in letting go of the rest.

2. Protect your time, space, and energy

Give yourself permission to miss that work event and holiday get-together. Focus on remaining grounded and finding quiet moments to recharge. Find warmth in the joy that comes with the holiday season.

3. Stay connected to yourself

Pay mindful attention to your inner world during this holiday season. Engage in mindfulness practices, whether it be a walk outside or a few mindful breaths, to help you find balance in the busy.

4. Find your support system

The holiday season can be overwhelming for many people. It is important to remember that you don’t have to manage it alone. Reach out to your therapist to help you manage this busy season and find balance through the every day.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with joy, rest, and moments of peaceful connection.
